Brammo, a small start up company is set to release the first motorcycle in their lineup of electric vehicles.  The Enertia electric motorcycle will provide up to an equivalent of 293 miles per gallons.

The Enertia motorcycle is more than a fast scooter according to Brammo.  It is a real motorcycle that weighs in at 275 pounds and operates on electric power only.  The retail price is between $11,995 and $14,995.  That amount of money gets you a motorcycle that is capable of a top speed of 50 mph and a range around 50 miles between charges.  The motorcycle will accelerate from 0-30 mph in 3.8 seconds.

The Enertia is designed as a short range motorcycle for daily commutes.  According to Brammo, the purpose of the motorcycle is to eliminate the use of fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gases by allowing commuters to travel without using a drop a gas.

In other news, the company has added three industry leaders to their staff of highly trained execs.  They added John Farris as marketing director.  Farris comes from GM's Chevrolet Silverado marketing group.  They added Adrian Stewart as director of channel development.  Stewart has a long history working with IBM.  And they added Roger Gerson as electrical engineering manager.  Gerson comes from Vectrix Electric, makers of the Vectric Maxiscooter.

Brammo is adding talented individuals to their staff, most of which have tremendous previous experience in the industry.  The company is readying themselves for the future of the Brammo brand.
