Today, March 2nd, Mitsubishi announced that it will work with Peugot on its upcoming electric car the i MiEV.  Mitsubishi plans to sell the i MiEV in European countries by the end of 2010 or the first quarter of 2011.

The recent announcement of the planned partnership on this vehicle will benefit both companies.  Mitsubishi will sell their version of the new electric car as the i MiEV while PSA Peugot-Citroen plans to market their own version of the vehicle.  Peugot's version has yet to be named and no release dates are scheduled.

The i MiEV has been released in prototype form for review.  Specifications will likely change as the partnership between Mitubishi and Peugot input their own requirements into the project.  The i MiEV is a minicar capable of up to 100 miles of all electric driving on a single charge.  Production versions may vary from current prototype forms as Mitsubishi and Peugot work together to produce a vehicle satisfying the needs of both companies.

Weighing in at a low curb weight, the i MiEV promises long range all electric driving, compact dimensions, and is expected to be favorably priced.
