Martin Eberhard, co-founder of Tesla, was removed from the company in November of 2007.  Now, nearly two years later he has filed a lawsuit against Tesla CEO Elon Musk and the company itself.

Eberhard's filing claims that Musk was libelous and slanderous towards him.  He also claims that the company was in breach of contract when they kicked him out.  In 2007, Musk was chairman of the company and the other co-founder was Mark Tarpenning.

The entire lawsuit comes in at 146 pages and was filed at the California Superior Court in San Mateo.  The case pits Eberhard against Musk in what could turn into a mess for Tesla.

According to Tesla spokeswoman Rachel Konrad, "This lawsuit is fictionalized, inaccurate account of Tesla's early years...it's twisted and wrong and we welcome the opportunity to set the record straight.  Incidentally, Tesla will also be filing counterclaims and in the process present an accurate account of the company's history."

We will provide updates as more information about the lawsuit become available.
