Ford Motor Company was recently presented with the Green Choice Award from the Natural Health magazine.
The award is given to companies who display green thinking and make sound environmental choices. Ford was one of 10 companies to receive the award.
Amongst automakers, they were chosen for their efforts in producing environmentally friendly, fuel efficient vehicles such as the Fusion Hybrid, Milan Hybrid, and Escape Hybrid.
Ford was also selected as an award recipient for their choices of green materials throughout the car building process. From recycled seat fabric material to soy based foam used in seat cushions, they have found a way to lessen the environmental impact throughout the vehicle.
Ford, as a whole, has managed to reduce its overall energy use by 33% over the course of the last nine years.
The award was presented earlier this month in New York City to 10 Green Choice Award recipients.
