The Italian car company Tazzari recently announced that it plans to bring its electric vehicle the Tazzari Zero to the U.S. market in 2010.

The  Zero is about the size of a golf cart.  Think small, really small and it weighs in at only 1,200 pounds.

Though the Zero is diminuitive, it is a capable vehicle.  The Zero can reach a top speed of 50 mph and can reach approximately 30 mph in under 5 seconds.

The Zero is powered by a lithium-iron battery that can be recharged in under 9 hours from a standard outlet and will provide a cruising range of up to 87 miles on a typical charge.

The Zero will make an appearance at the Bologna International Motor Show later this year.  U.S. pricing is not set at this time, but European versions will sell for around $27,000.  Certainly a high price tag for a small vehicle, but the U.S. market version may be priced differently.
