Unfortunately, the Model 3's fans may have to wait a while longer to learn much of substance about the car. Denise Gray is used to challenges in her career, generally over new technologies. As a young engineer at GM, she first designed electrical components, then got her first major managerial role on the team to develop what became the 1997 Corvette. She was given the responsibility of introducing and enforcing modern software-testing and approval protocols for the electronic powertrain control systems. That led to an expanded role ensuring that all powertrain projects throughout General Motors used suitably rigorous use-case and testing protocols. CHECK OUT: LG Chem To Become World's Biggest...

Among the drawbacks of cars that run on battery power is the energy required to heat their cabins. As electric-car drivers in less temperate climes know, heating the cabin to room temperature has an enormous impact on battery range--conceivably as high as 40 percent. A similar impact is seen from air-conditioning use as well, but it takes far less energy to cool a car from 90 to 70 degrees F (32 to 21 degrees C) than it does to heat it from 25 to 70 degrees F (- 4 to 21 degrees C).
