But what if you’ve driven automatic all your life? What if you’re a stick-shift virgin, and worry that you’re going to change too early (or too late) your first time? As more electric cars hit the roads it's only natural a few milestones will fall here and there--and the latest is for the Franco-Japanese duo Renault-Nissan. The companies have now sold over 100,000 electric vehicles between them--the milestone car a Nissan Leaf, sold to American grad student Allison Howard. Of the total, the vast majority are Leafs. Nissan's electric car has now sold over 71,000 examples worldwide since hitting the streets in 2010. Of those, the U.S. makes up around 30,000 units, Japan at 28,000 and Europe approximately 12,000. With just a week to go before the production version of BMW's i3 electric car is revealed, the German automaker has announced pricing for the car. The 2014 BMW i3 has a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $41,350, before BMW's $925 destination fee--for a starting price of $42,275. That's also the car's true price before any Federal tax credits or local incentives--BMW has wisely chosen not to use deceptive "net pricing"--so eligible buyers may be able to get their i3 a lower effective total cost. The $42,000 price tag pretty much matches our own prediction of $42,000-$46,000 for the i3...

The trouble with kids is that they just don't have enough ways to injure themselves these days. If you're a parent who thinks this should change, then we can't think of anything with better arm-breaking potential than the Crazy Cart from Razor. What the Crazy Cart is, is a shrunken electric go-kart on casters with a tiny seat and a vertically-mounted steering wheel. Or that's what it looks like, at any rate. What it does is allow kids (or suitably light adults who haven't yet stopped acting like kids) to pull enormous drifts or dizzying spins using an e-brake-like lever beside the seat. This...
