2011 Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car

2011 Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car

On October 22, Chevy issued a challenge via the Chevrolet Voltage Blog: come up with the best name for the Volt's signature silvery-greenish color, and you'll get a free trip to the LA Auto Show, not to mention a test drive of the pre-production extended-range electric vehicle. Each name submitted was supposed to describe the paint color and the essence of what the Volt stands for.

Now the field has been narrowed to three and the winner will be chosen by an Internet vote. The possible names are as follows:

  • Viridian Joule, submitted by David Thomas of Sanford, Florida
  • environMINT, submitted by Matthew Valbuena of Rancho Santa Margarita, California
  • EV-ergreen, submitted by Devin McQuarrie of San Jose, California

To partake in this bit of Chevy history, check out the Voltage blog and weigh in with the name you think is best. You've got until 8:00 a.m. ET on December 1 to have your vote counted. If you vote Chicago-style, this gives you plenty of time to register your opinion repeatedly, but you'll have to do it from a different IP address each time. We won't tell you which name submitted by Matthew Valbuena we think is best.
