The Nikkei Business Daily has reported that Toyota plans to produce between 20,000 and 30,000 plug-in hybrids in 2012. The Japanese automaker has already committed to leasing 500 plug-ins for government and corporate use by the end of this year. The plan is hardly a surprise. While traditional hybrids continue to gain popularity, plug-ins are viewed as the next technological advancement towards cleaner, more efficient vehicles offering the same range and convenience of today's gas powered cars. First Drive Impressions: 2010 Lexus HS250hWe've devoted more space on AllAboutPrius.com to the 2010 Lexus HS250h hybrid than to most other cars. According to Lexus, they will cut their initial sales target for the upcoming Lexus HS 250h hybrid by 5,000 units to account for a continuing downturn in the car market. Lexus set initial sales target at 30,000 units for the upcoming hybrid, but has now decided to cut their sale target to only 25,000 annually. The all new Lexus RX 450h Hybrid makes news for reasons that you can't see by looking at or driving the vehicle. In fact, pockets are not allowed in the factory and anti-static clothing is a must. The manufacturing of hybrid vehicles is a dedicated process and dust as well as many other seemingly unimportant things can and do affect the quality of the finished product.
