Which electric car is your favorite? Twitter poll results
Many times our polls deal with weighty issues—climate change, renewable energy, the effects of denying science—or survey expectations for the future. But sometimes we just do a "Pick one!" kind of poll. That's what we did last week, when we asked Twitter followers to name their favorite...

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV, meanwhile, went on sale since last December; at some point this fall, we expect to get information on...

2017 VW e-Golf rated at 125 miles, tops 124-mile Hyundai Ioniq electric car
Oh, those crafty Germans. Just a few days after the week-long media launch of the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq range, Volkswagen has quietly one-upped the Ioniq Electric's 124-mile EPA-rated range. Granted, it's only beaten the South Korean electric car by 1 mile. But still. DON'T MISS: Hyundai Ioniq...

The Volkswagen e-Golf will arrive in dealerships this spring with a higher-capacity battery pack that gives the electric car an EPA-rated 124 miles of range. The number equals the rating of the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq, and is the highest range offered by any electric car that's not a Chevy Bolt EV or a Tesla. Whether this boosts the allure of the German hatchback's all-electric version against Chevrolet's range advantage of 114 more miles remains to be seen. VW e-Golf likes, dislikes, and surprises: the wrap-up
We have to admit, the Volkswagen e-Golf had us rather charmed from the start. Even based on early Euro-spec prototypes, and when we pitted all-electric against diesel with our back-to-back e-Golf vs. Golf TDI test drive review nearly two years ago, we found a lot of potential in the all-electric...

VW e-Golf: Do its 3 modes do what electric-car drivers want?
Take any number of electric cars from different automakers for a brief test drive, and one thing will be abundantly clear: There’s not yet a norm for how EV powertrains are expected to behave. Some electric cars glide along when you lift off the accelerator, with little or no regenerative...

When it launched in fall 2014, the Volkswagen e-Golf electric car all but duplicated the Nissan Leaf in range and efficiency: 83 miles and 116 MPGe against the Leaf's 84-mile and 114-MPGe ratings. Since then, the Leaf has gotten an upgrade to 107 miles, and an increase is en route for the e-Golf as well. Now attention is turning to the next generation of the e-Golf, to be launched as part of the updated eighth-generation Golf lineup that will start to appear late in 2018.
