Enertia electric motorcycle

Brammo CEO, Craig Bramscher had a problem. His startup electric motorcycle company had no place to sell its products. Enter the nation's largest electronics store: Best Buy. In February, Autoblog reported that the Brammo Enertia motorcycle would be available at five Best Buy stores on the west coast in May.

"What we're selling is a lot closer to consumer electronics than to transportation," said Bramscher at the time. Fast forward to May and this tidbit surfaced in a story by BNET Auto: “We can confirm that Best Buy will be piloting electric-powered personal transportation products at some of its stores on the west coast later this spring. This selection will include Brammo.”

While we can't confirm the source of the quote or the specific electric-powered products referenced, it sounds like Best Buy will be testing the waters of the personal EV market. After Circuit City's bankruptcy, it's no surprise that Best Buy is trying to find ways to distinguish itself from other big box retailers that carry electronics. Whether you'd trust your $12,000 electric motorcycle to the Geek Squad is another story.
