Are you on Facebook? If you aren’t, then you might be missing out. MINI has their own official Facebook Fan Page for people around the world to “like” MINI and currently it shows that 441,716 people have signed up. Pretty impressive considering Facebook is really something that has exploded for business in the last couple of years. Now we are seeing many brands like MINI, Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc…reach out to their target demographics by interfacing with them in a variety of ways including Facebook and Twitter. MINI definitely has their own style and that doesn’t change when it comes to their Facebook Fan Page. One cool feature is the MINI Poll.
Yes, MINI has a poll on their Facebook site that asks people to identify which type of MINI they own (you can even check they you don’t have one yet). Since Friday, October 8th, MINI has received 4868 votes through their Facebook poll with some interesting results. So far, the MINI Hatch (or Cooper for those looking for recognizable nomenclature) is in the lead with 41 percent of the vote. Even more interesting is that the rest of the MINIs, which include the Convertible, Clubman, Countryman and Classic Mini, all have a similar percentage (between 9-12 percent) of the overall results. This leaves 20 percent of the votes in the “non-ownership” category.
2009 MINI Cooper
Bottom line—The MINI Cooper seems to win the popularity contest in the MINI family, at least according to Facebook. The one to watch though is the new MINI Countryman; with 10 percent of the vote and just being announced recently, it could become popular fast among current and prospective MINI owners.
