Today came a steady stream of live tweets from the @FordRacing team as they watched several of their competitors take on the X-Games 16 Rally Car Event. In a turn of events that no one, except maybe Ford Racing hopefuls, could have predicted, it came down to two Ford Fiesta’s in the Rally Event Finals. The two challengers: Tanner Foust and Brian Deegan. The twist, both drivers drive Ford Fiesta rally cars.

The final race proved to be close until Brian Deegan got lost on course. With that mistake, Tanner Foust went on to claim the gold medal in the Rockstar Energy Rally Ford Fiesta. Of course we congratulate Foust and Ford on their victory. We also would like to point out that this is just another piece in the larger global puzzle that Ford has pieced together with the Fiesta launch. Earlier this week we shared Kent Block’s newest commercial staring the Monster Rally Fiesta and we also talked a little about Ford’s social media prowess (more here).

Bottom line—the Fiesta is quite the car and Ford is making just that much more enticing to consumer by showing it isn’t a cheap econo-box; it is a class leading, feature full small car that will change the way you see vehicles priced starting at $13,995 (rally prep costs extra).
