Dodge's full size pickup truck the Ram is about to enter the hybrid game.

The Ram is scheduled for release in 2010 and appears to be coming along as spy shots have now been released.  The 2 mode hybrid powertrain is a joint venture between many companies including Chrysler, BMW, General Motors, and Mercedes Benz.

In the 2010 Ram, the expected engine is a 2 mode hybrid paired with a 5.7 liter HEMI V8.  The engine will include cylinder deactivation and an automatic transmission.  On the electric side, power will come from a 60kW electric motor.  The hybrid powertrain is similar in design to the GM full size twin pickup hybrids the Sierra and the Silverado.

The Ram powertrain should provide the ability to move under full electric power at low speeds.  No word is available on batteries used in the 2010 Ram at this point.

More information will be available as the release draws near sometimes in 2010.
