The Mitsubishi i MiEV Sport Air Concept is currently on display at the Geneva International Motor Show. This concept draws from design cues of the Mitsubishi i MiEV.
The Sport Air shares its naming with the similar Saab 9x Air adding an open top version to the i MiEV line of vehicles from Mitsubishi. The i MiEV offers extended range all electric driving.
The Sport Air has a clear cutaway roof above its cabin that is fitted with solar panels . The Sport Air offers the driver a sensation of top down motoring while its use of solar panels showcase it eco-friendly attitude.
According to Mitsubishi, the Sport Air offers the same bold stance as the i MiEV with wheels at each corner, wide fenders, and a chiseled body that guides air flow to cool the rear mounted electric motor.
Mitsuibishi claims that the Sport Air will emphasize driving please by prodviding dynamic performance with a low environmental impact. The Sport Air will be powered by a lithium ion battery pack mounted in the floor to reduce its center of gravity. The Sport Air has a length of approximately 136 inches and a wheelbase of only 100 inches.
