Electrification of the automobile not only means great things for personal mobility, but can be applied to high performance cars.

Shelby Supercars, who already makes the world fastest production car has plans to build the worlds fastest electric car. The vehicle's development was first announced last summer and has the name Ultimate Aero EV.

The company has now released new details on the electric drivetrain.

They claim it will have a 200 mile range and be rechargeable in 10 minutes. It will have superhorsepower potential and use a nanotehnology lithium ion pack.

Furthermore they claim the electric drivetrain is scalable and can be sold for 5 to 6 K per unit wholesale to automakers looking to build 10,000 or more units.

  1. Wow. How did I miss this story? This sounds awesome, and...impossible. How plausible are the claims Shelby is making?

    Bad stuff?

  2. I don't believe the wattage needed to drive that car 200 miles can be provided by a standard 110v outlet in 10(ten) minutes and I don't see any pricing.

  6. Same comment as to the Tesla. A fun toy for the rich and famous maybe, but irrelevant in the real world.
