  • 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD bi-fuel (natural gas & gasoline) pickup truck

General Motors announced today it will offer bi-fuel versions of its 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks that run either on gasoline or natural gas. The two trucks are the 2500 HD (heavy duty) model, and can be ordered in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive and with a standard or long bed. The pickups are fitted with a 6.0-liter V-8 engine that is modified to switch seamlessly between burning compressed natural gas, or CNG, and gasoline. GM chose the bi-fuel option, it said, because it relieves buyers of the need to stay within range of a local natural-gas fueling stations. No...

Honda released the bulk of its 2012 Civic range this spring, but one model lagged behind: the Civic Natural Gas, the all-new version of what had been called the Civic GX. • 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas model at New York Auto Show, April 2011

OK, so gas prices are hovering around $4 a gallon, and dispensing with gasoline altogether is getting more and more attractive. But for whatever reasons, plug-in cars aren't for you. Maybe it's the limited range of battery electric vehicles, maybe it's the $41,000 cost before incentives of the 2011 Chevy Volt. Well, depending on where you live, there is another option: fueling your car on natural gas. For more than a decade, Honda has been the only carmaker that has sold a compact passenger car powered by natural gas. For 2012, its all-new Civic line includes a model called the Civic Natural...
