This week we ushered in a new year on Green Car Reports, but that doesn't mean there wasn't car news. Here's a look back:

Fisker Automotive's fate is suddenly up in the air, again, after a last-minute bid was submitted for the failed automaker. To make things even worse, the founders of the company are now being sued.

In drive reports this week, we published our gas mileage report for both the 2014 Mazda CX-5 and 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK 250 BlueTEC crossovers.

Other headlines this week included residual values on plug-in electric cars, fast-charging becoming a key electric-car differentiator, and renewable "pedal power" to light the famous New Year's Eve ball in Times Square.

Ford's bringing a C-Max Solar Energi Concept to the Consumer Electronics Show next week, while Audi's planning to show its Sport quattro Laserlight Plug-In Hybrid Concept.

We took a look at plug-in electric car sales for 2013, and profiled one Ford F-150 pickup truck driver who likes electric cars.
