Electric motorcycle manufacturer Zero Motorcycles has announced the recall of certain model year 2009 and 2010 Zero S and Zero DS motorcycles, to replace the front brake caliper bracket. Under heavy braking, the original front brake caliper bracket may be subject to deformation, which can cause brake pad misalignment and reduced front brake performance.

The recall is expected to begin prior to the end of May, once dealers receive supplies of the redesigned brake caliper bracket. Dealers will replace the original front brake caliper bracket with the re-designed one, and will replace the front brake pads to ensure proper alignment between brake pads and rotor. Front brake fluid will also be checked for signs of overheating, and dealers will flush and replace front brake fluid as necessary.
