News is a big part of AllSmallCars.com because we like to keep you the consumer up to date on the latest small car news. However, it is also our goal to give you useful opinions and advice in the form of reviews, top car lists and first drives. In May there was a lot happening in the industry (some might say, when isn’t there!) including speculation that the MINI Beachcomber concept could go into production, the changing of Dodge’s logo for better brand identity and the official numbers on the 2011 Ford Fiesta being released by the EPA. That said, as we started toward the middle of the year we thought it was time to give our readers an idea of the best small cars you could buy. The result—The Top 5 Smallest Cars You Can Buy hit the cover of AllSmallCars.com in mid-May.

On the Top 5 Smallest Cars list back in May was the 2010 Chevrolet Aveo, 2010 Toyota Yaris, 2011 Ford Fiesta, 2010 Smart ForTwo and the 2010 MINI Cooper. At the time we here at AllSmallCars.com felt this was the best of the best when it came to the smallest cars on the market in the U.S. The question as we were reviewing the articles for May and selecting our top pick for the month was this: “Does the Top 5 still hold up as we start to ring in the New Year?”

The conclusion was yes. All of these are fine automobiles that should be considered when buying new. Each vehicle, whether it be the MINI Cooper with its solid resale, the 2011 Ford Fiesta with best in class MPG or Smart ForTwo because you can truly park it anywhere, gives consumers the best that the small car market has to offer. When they can still do it half a year later that is something worth celebrating.
