2010 Suzuki SX4 Crossover

2010 Suzuki SX4 Crossover

Consumer Reports is pretty much a household name for many families looking to buy a car. It is my belief that this becomes even truer when needing to buy an affordable car either for you or teenager. In many cases, the new car will be for the parent and the teenager will get the hand me down, however, with the latest cars under $20K the long term investment might change people’s minds. Let’s see what has made the list for 2010.

  • Ford Focus SES
  • Honda Civic LX
  • Honda Fit
  • Hyundai Elantra SE
  • Mazda3 i Touring (sedan)
  • Nissan Sentra 2.0 SL
  • Nissan Versa 1.8 SL (hatchback)
  • Scion xB
  • Scion xD
  • Subaru Impreza 2.5i
  • Suzuki SX4 Crossover Technology

2010 Honda Fit Sport

2010 Honda Fit Sport

Just to put some perspective on this, all of these cars rated as Very Good or Excellent in the Consumer Reports tests. The prices for these vehicles range from about $16K to 20K, which considers typical options and an automatic transmission. Interestingly enough, only two of these cars made the Least expensive to own over five years list for 2010; those two cars are the Honda Fit (base) and Scion xD.

Be sure to check out our new car section for the latest reviews, model line up and pictures of the cars listed above. My personal picks include the Mazda3, Honda Fit and Suzuki SX4 Crossover Technology (rare for its all-wheel drive availability).
