First 'release candidate' Tesla Model 3 driven: video posted by Elon Musk
The news earlier this week that the Tesla Model 3 would skip its usual "beta" development phase came as a shock to the industry and even to Tesla fans. With no reported sitings to date of Model 3 development versions on the roads, that seemed a startling and risky thing for Tesla to do. Especially...

Some of the biggest news of the year has been broken on social networking site, Twitter. For Tesla CEO Elon Musk, that includes regular tweets about the company. Most car companies really suck at Twitter. There, we said it. For every company using it as a glorified advertising platform there's another trying to get 'interactive' in a way that's so hideously over-friendly they're like the attention-seeking kid at school. Some, however, get it right. Smart of Argentina is one of those, sticking by the mantra "Keep It Simple, Stupid" with its Twitter feed (via TheNextWeb). There's no cheesy hashtag here, no endless retweeting of sycophantic fan comments nor any questions asking what you'll be doing with your "insert vehicle name here" this weekend...

It's Friday, the day when we round up the random items we've received all week and decide what to do with them. This one, we decided, deserves a reader poll. What do you think, was this innocent grey second-generation Toyota Prius keyed by someone who hates the fuel efficiency and green image of...

Carmakers have dived into the deep end of social media, with iPhone apps, Facebook pages, Twitter streams, and a whole host of other online ways to reach potential buyers and promote their brands. Not surprisingly, given the affluent, environmentally aware nature of its audience, the 2010 Toyota Prius hybrid is making forays into social media as well. Most notably, you can visit the Toyota Prius Facebook page, which lets you download a "Prius Experience" Apple iPhone app and four separate Prius-themed games. Drives, puzzles, gifts, games Those include a virtual drive of Toyota's best-known...
