Energica recently released a video that puts its Energica Ego electric superbike in direct competition with a variety of well known high-powered cars and motorcycles.

The quarter-mile races highlight the 3-second 0-to-60-mph acceleration of the Energica Ego against some solid competition

The competitors include a Tesla Roadster, a BMW 1000RR HP4, a Ferrari 45B Italia, a Zero S, and a Tesla Model S P85D.

That is a pretty good lineup of electric and gas powered competition. The only odd choice in there is the Zero S electric motorcycle, which has a 4.8-second 0-to-60-mph time.

The more powerful Zero SR, on the other hand, has a 3.3-second 0-to-60 time.

The Energica still would win, but it would be a much closer race.

The video also highlights the sounds made by each vehicle, so you get a good sense of the sound generated by the electric motors and the gas powered motors alike.

Note that electric motorcycles are quiet, but not silent.

Energica also recently announced that its Ego is now NHTSA and US EPA certified and can be driven on roads legally in the US.

The company also claims to be on pace for Q3 deliveries in 2015, so we may see some on the roads this fall.

Overall, it looks like the video makers had a lot of fun. (We love the Captain America quote at the end.)

A couple of the races were close, and others were total blowouts--but you'll have to watch to find out which was which.
