Phylla, the Green Urban Vehicle

PhyllaWhen "Italy" means more than "design": Phylla ("leaf", from ancient greek) is the result of a combined project of the Environment Park, the Advanced Design Fiat Research Centre (CRF) and the Polytechnic Istitute of Turin, with the sponsorship of Piemonte Region.

The objective (fully achieved) was to create a competitively priced, fully ecological car using only recyclable materials, with zero CO2 emissions and able to employ a combination of alternative energies, such as solar and hydrogen, for example, which means a 10 times lower cost compared to a gas-engined city car.

A prototype of the innovative city car has been presented in the late 2008 and early production models are foretold to be provided to the sponsor Piemonte Region late in 2010.
