Hyundai has announced pricing for the 2015 Sonata midsize sedan, but there's still no word on a new generation of the hybrid model found in the previous lineup.
In response to a query, Hyundai representative Phil Floraday said, "The 2015 Sonata Hybrid details haven’t been announced yet--but there will be one."

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata will start at $21,960 when it goes on sale later this month. That buys a base SE model.

Next up is the Limited trim level, which starts at $27,335. This adds more technology, including blind-spot and rear cross-traffic monitoring systems, and an auto-opening "Smart Trunk."
The SE, Sport, and Limited trim levels all feature a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, which produces 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, and drives the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
There's also a Sport 2.0T model, which starts at $29,385 and--as the name implies--features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.
This engine produces 245 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Once again, a six-speed automatic transmission is mandatory.

Both engines are revised versions of the ones offered in the outgoing Sonata. EPA fuel-economy ratings for the 2015 model haven't yet been released, but for now it's unclear whether the changes will translate into improved mpg.

Other optional features available in packages on certain models include Hyundai's Blue Link--which features Google destination search, Remote Start, and maintenance scheduling--navigation with 8-inch display, and a panoramic sunroof.
Missing from Hyundai's announcement of its lineup are any details about a replacement for the current Sonata Hybrid, although the model will continue.
The Sonata Hybrid launched on a different schedule than the last generation of Sonata (new for the 2010 model year), and it looks like the second hybrid generation will follow the same path.
Production of the rest of the 2015 Sonata line is already underway at Hyundai's plant in Montgomery, Alabama, with deliveries expected to begin before the end of this month.
