Here at AllSmallCars.com we are huge fans and champions of the 2011 Nissan Leaf. It isn’t the edgy Nissan design or the idea of never having to go to the gas pump that excites us; no, it is that we are witnessing groundbreaking steps for the automotive industry. Think of the Nissan Leaf like the Model T and the Tesla like the hand built luxury cars of the early 1900s. The leaf represents a completely electric, reasonably affordable (not cheap, but not 75K either) and a commitment to find new technology for consumers. According to TheCarConnection.com, Nissan has missed their deadline for letting one of our editors that is on the waiting list know when his car will be delivered and how to prepare a spot for it in his humble garage.

Marty talks about the email he received from Nissan (more here) and we can understand the disappointment that comes across. The Leaf is an exciting proposition and if you have your order in you must be on pins and needles waiting to get your hands on your very own zero-emission beauty. That all said, we should cut Nissan a little slack, especially considering that they are one of the first car companies in the U.S. to bring a mass produced electric vehicle that can and is being bought by common consumers. I for one would love to have one for an extended test-drive to see if it could really make my commute to and from the office everyday. Wouldn’t that be an interesting study at a Mile-High and during all four seasons?

We have faith Nissan will be back to Marty and all the other consumers with orders in short order, as he says, it could be due to his location in Atlanta. Until then, check out the email and Marty’s article over at AllCarsElectric.com.
