2010 lexus rx 450h Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...a Mark Levinson premium stereo system, a dual rear-screen entertainment system, a head-up display, and the Pre-Collision system (which primes the brakes and tightens the seatbelts if a collision is deemed imminent). Many of the various package features are also available as stand-alone options. Powertrains and Performance: The 2010 Lexus RX 450h hybrid combines a 3.5-liter gasoline V6 engine with electric motor-generators to power vehicle systems and the driving wheels. Front-wheel-drive models use two motor-generators -- one acting as a starter/generator and the other providing motive force... |

2010 Lexus RX 450h Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The RX450h looks pretty good inside and out, but I'm loath to praise any styling vocabulary with such a ridiculous name. The RX also debuts Lexus' Remote Touch, a multifunction controller, kind of like a computer mouse that is hand-stitched by Prada. Situated in a small, leather-bound lump in the central console, the Remote Touch directs a point-and-click arrow through the LCD's various display menus, such as navigation and audio functions. With the display's top-tab graphic format, getting around the menus is effortless. The RX450h is fairly well equipped in standard trim, including loads of... |

2010 Lexus RX 450h Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...You maneuver the joystick, which moves an arrow over different icons, to do everything from play music and enter navigation information to set personal door-lock preferences. The joystick has a tactile feedback function, kind of like a Wii remote. It gives different resistance levels depending on where the arrow is on the screen, so you know whether you're on an icon or not. It's pretty cool, but I'm not in love with it. Remote Touch doesn't control everything, so you still have to reach up to the control stack or use voice commands. If you want to set the climate control, you can change the... |

Both the gas-only and hybrid versions of the RX include features designed to save fuel. The RX 350 has an Eco indicator that illuminates when the driver is operating the RX in an efficient manner. The RX 450h, meanwhile, has an Eco Mode with specific throttle and air-conditioning programs to increase efficiency... |

2010 Lexus RX 450h Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...In place of the RX 350's tachometer is a gauge showing electric-motor assist versus battery recharging. The interior ditches much of the prior generation's symmetrical shapes for swooping panels and futuristic controls. Chief among them is Lexus' Remote Touch system, which uses a knob to navigate menus with a mouse-like arrow on the dashboard display screen. Like Lexus' other hybrids, the RX 450h's display screen can show the power flow between the drivetrain's electric motors, engine and battery. Other features include voice-recognition software that Lexus says will pick up conversational... |

2010 Lexus RX 450h: ReviewSource: MSN Autos...cylindrical housings.Upgrades and several innovative features are discreetly integrated with ease of use and efficiency in mind. The optional navigation system uses a hard-disk drive instead of DVDs to source maps, which are displayed through an 8-inch LCD mounted in the center of the dash. The screen shrinks to a 7-inch display for audio and HVAC settings when the navigation system is not ordered. Either way, graphics and resolution are impressive. And since the screens are placed farther to better remain in the driver’s line of sight and depth of field, reducing visual disruption and... |

2010 Lexus RX 450h Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...It's comfortable to put your hand around and easy to move the arrow on the center-mounted LCD screen, but most commands don't require such precise cursor placement. A simple clickwheel like you find in Mercedes and Audi cars would be preferable. Because it reminded me so much of a mouse, it also kind of reminded me of the cubicle I spend my days in ... while I was driving. That wasn't a good mindset to be in. I didn't like the heated and cooled seat controls hidden under the sliding armrest/center console cover. If you left one on you wouldn't be able to shut it off — or even see what... |
