2012 Kia Forte Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...You expect it to be sporty, but in reality it doesn't do much to engage you. The Forte goes where you point it, but it doesn't encourage you to drive it hard. For the enthusiast-oriented compact-car buyer, the Mazda3 remains one of the best choices out there. The Inside Interior quality has become a battleground in the compact segment, and you can see the results of manufacturers' efforts in the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, 2011 Elantra and 2012 Focus. Where a high-grade interior was once a way for an automaker to stand out from the rest of the class — like Volkswagen with its Jetta —... |

2012 Kia Forte Koup OverviewSource: CarGurus...If you add the Technology Package to the EX trim, you’ll get the previously mentioned “Added Supervision” meter cluster for the dash, as well as navigation with traffic, a rear-view camera, keyless access and start, automatic climate control, fog lights and automatic headlights. Chrome door handles too. Bask in the technology. The suspension is well-sorted at least in base form. It won’t provide the subtle blend of comfort and performance you’ll find more easily outside of the compact class, but it’s good enough to be fun without fully compacting your spine. With a bit more power... |

2012 kia forte Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...A six-speed manual transmission is standard on LX models and the Koup, while EX and SX models come equipped with a six-speed automatic that's also offered as an option on the LX. In Edmunds performance testing, an SX hatchback with an automatic went from zero to 60 mph in 8.8 seconds, which is on par with similarly powered cars. The Koup is a bit quicker. With the manual it hits 60 in 7.6 seconds. The EPA fuel economy estimates for the LX and EX with the manual transmission are 25 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined. Those numbers edge up to a respectable 26/36/29 with the automatic... |

2012 Kia Forte OverviewSource: CarGurus...17 horses aren’t a lot, but an extra 24 lb-ft of torque help and make things a lot less strained when speed is needed. The 6-speed automatic also comes with paddle shifters here, and while the Forte will never be mistaken for an enthusiast’s ride, the fun is increased a bit with their inclusion. Efficiency drops down to 23/32, however – a big sacrifice for not a lot of power gained. The real benefit of the SX trim is its suspension. While LX and EX trims suffer from a setup that is neither overly comfortable nor impressively sporty, the SX manages a better blend. Bump absorption is... |
