2010 honda fit Professional Edmunds Review

...Acceleration times vary widely depending on the transmission: The stick shift's good for about 9.5-second sprints to 60 mph, but the base Fit with the automatic requires a snooze-inducing 11.0 seconds. EPA fuel economy estimates stand at 27 mpg city/33 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined for all Fits with the manual transmission, while the Fit Sport equipped with the automatic is rated at 27/33/30. More conservative shift programming on base models fitted with the automatic yields a superior 28/35/31 rating. Safety: Standard safety equipment for the 2010 Honda Fit includes antilock disc brakes...

...The 60/40-split backrests recline a bit, but the release handles atop the seatbacks are much better located for folding the seats flat than for reclining once you're seated. For what it's worth, Honda continues to claim that the front seats recline all the way to create something of a bed, as they do in the Honda Element. I continue to claim that even Michael Phelps isn't double-jointed enough to rest comfortably on this thing. The versatile rear seats' cushions can be raised to provide a tall cargo space, or their backrests can be folded forward in the customary fashion. The nested head...

...From the driver's seat, I liked the simple layout of the center stack with the climate-control dials stacked almost vertically near the driver. However, I didn't like that I needed to press a button a hundred times to tune the radio; dial controls, which the Fit didn't have, are so much easier to use. While the seat upholstery was too downscale for my tastes, the driver's seat was comfortable with firm cushioning. However, both the driver and front passenger seats weren't very adjustable. The Fit doesn't have a center console, but thankfully there is a fold-down armrest for the driver. In the...

...It's a noisy, rev-happy engine that feels appropriate for a sporty little car. If you're afraid to put the pedal to the floor, though, the Fit may feel underpowered. I frequently had to bury the pedal to pass or merge on the highway. While cruising at highway speeds, the Fit didn't like to maintain a steady pace; I had to play with the throttle to keep up with traffic. Other Cars.com editors noticed this inconvenience as well. The problem is easily avoidable using the Sport's standard cruise control, but base models don't offer it. If you need a small car to travel long distances on highways...

CarGurus' Review for 2010 honda fit

...Achieving an average fuel economy of almost 32 mpg without the help of diesel or hybrid technology is impressive, especially given the Fit's price.
The question remains, though: Are you willing to give up things like soft plastics,
leather upholstery, usable horsepower, and a suspension
that can actually perform without requiring a visit to the chiropractor to save a few dollars at the pump every year? If a subcompact is what you’re looking for,
the 2010 Honda Fit is a good option...

...On the highway, it cruises comfortably, although there is a moderate amount of wind and road noise. Prices start at $14,900 and top out at $19,110 for a Fit Sport with the navigation system and automatic transmission. The test car was a Fit Sport with the automatic transmission and navigation system. The top-line Fit Sport has a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, fingertip steering wheel controls and Honda's optional voice-recognition navigation system. The Fit's front seats are excellent. They hit me in all the right places and had firm foam. The second-row seat folds forward at the flip of a...
