2009 bmw x6 Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...Powertrains and Performance: The 2009 BMW X6 xDrive35i is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6 that produces 300 hp and 300 pound-feet of torque. In our testing, this X6 accelerated to 60 mph from a standstill in an impressive 6.3 seconds. Gas mileage for the xDrive35i is 15/20 mpg city/highway; it dips to 13/18 mpg for... |

DPC, however, adds an electronically controlled rear differential that through the use of two planetary gear sets and two clutch packs directs additional torque to either rear wheel to help steer the X6. This helps on different road surfaces and to quell understeer, since it can send torque to the outside rear wheel in a turn. This system was first developed for Formula 1... |

As with other BMWs, the numbers on the trunk don't have much to do with the engine size. The xDrive35i uses a 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder, while the xDrive50i uses a 4.4-liter V-8.
