So disappointed I traded it in within a monthSource: Edmunds
...I am a 4-time VW owner (Fox, old Jetta, new Jetta, Touareg), so I was eager for a reasonably priced wagon that gets great fuel economy. |

...I was an Audi Q7 3.6 FSI owner. Even Audi was very elegant, the mileage was bad, averaging 16 mpg overall. |

Super SUVSource: Edmunds
...I've been an Audi owner for years, but opted for the VW this go 'round because I didn't care for the Q7 exterior and I liked the air suspension option on the Touareg. |

Third TDISource: Edmunds...No major breaks or downtime. I am not too diligent on maintenance so these have held up well with basic oil changes at 15,000+ miles. Bought 2010 TDI wagon in July 2009. Great ride as usual. My wife wont give my car back. She left me with Windstar van which we will probably replace with TDI Touareg. Are we lucky not have maintenance problems? probably but very satisfied with VW reliability and mileage over 15 years.Great car to drive on long business trips. We now supply TDI wagons to our salesmen. We make up higher initial cost with better fuel mileage.I get 38 MPG mixed and over 40 hwy... |

AwesomeSource: Edmunds...Granted I am a big guy, but SUVs should be able to fit larger people. Anyway, I'm moving to the snow country and needed a vehicle that could get me around. After being disappointed with many test drives, I tried the Touareg. It was awesome head and shoulders above the competition. This car is not a pretender like most of the SUVs made other manufactures. Given the standard features included, I decided to go with the base V8 (especially since I found one with a ski sack). I highly recommend anyone looking for a fully capable SUV to try a Touareg. Have fun and good luck with your search!... |

My nicest VW to dateSource: Edmunds...Its fuel economy has been around 16+ mpg, as advertised. For a 5,300 pound vehicle, I cannot complain. It has massive power, sticky cornering on all its season tires, a great 6 speed tiptronic transmission, and all of the creature comforts that I have never known in a Volkswagen. The best ownership factor is not seeing one every mile on the road, like the Ford Explorer, BMW X5, etc. Always get the "high five" from other VW drivers. I just easily handled 10+ inches of fresh snowfall on back roads of the Eastern Shore of VA. I was the last vehicle into my community before the roads were deemed... |
