A good all around family fun vehicle
Source: MSN Autos

...It's about 3" too short for that. Also, the tonneau cover could be much better designed. It shouldn't leak as much as it does. The 8 way power drivers' seat is great, however it should be possible to have 4 memory buttons to program different drivers' seat positions so it doesn't have to be a chore. And the UGLY, HUGE interior door handles. UGH! Last but not least... GAS MILEAGE! They advertise 16-20 mpg... Try 14 to 15.3 tops. I'm not impressed. I didn't expect great mileage. It is a truck, after all. But I did expect to be in range. Overall: Overall, a great vehicle. About $5,000 too...

...This is a great little car. I'm glad that I bought it when I did.
It seems they are hard to come by. I keep very careful record of my gas mileage and the overall average is approxiately 43 miles/gallon. It is a great little car that seems to be well built...

Quite a Disappointment, actually
Source: Cars.com

..."This is my 4th golf..my old ones (86, 89 and 90) have never let me down!
Now that I've moved on to the 2000, it's nothing BUT problems.-2002: replaced 2 oxygen sensors,
catalytic converter-2003:replaced 1 oxygen sensor, water pump-2004: door sensor went (can't find it to replace, rear wiper fluid broke,-2005: leaking coolant-can't figure out from where.
-2006: blown head gasket, blown fuel injector, spark plug blew out of head (was in tight), replaced yet another Oxygen sensor, blown catalytic converter-yes--again!...

My 2003 VW Golf
Source: Cars.com

...The seats could be longer and tilt more but I can't complain. They are still the best seats I have tried so far in the compact arena. It sounds great, looks great and handles great, and has plenty of power without the straining lawnmower engine noise of some other gas saver compacts. It is really fun to drive and you almost feel like your in a porsche like cockpit. At least I do. After only 2 months with this car I am now a VW fan. It is a classy little car and as a bonus the seats fold down, or you can remove them and have lots of cargo space. A porsche with cargo space. Gotta love it."...

Diesels rule

...I purchased my 2006 Volkswagen Golf GLS TDI about two weeks ago and I absolutely love it.
I have put over 300 miles on it so far and still have a little more than half a tank left, this tank was filled full when I purchased it...

70 mpg
Source: Edmunds

...The Golf GLS TDI is a comfortabe car that gets 70 mpg at 60 mph on flat ground without the A/C on and 47 mpg at 75 mph with the A/C on.
It will do extremely high speeds in 5th gear. It even runs great on 20% soy oil or any other kind of veggie oil. The only down side is you must cool down the turbocharger for up to five minutes...

Nick's Review
Source: Edmunds

...This car has been a dream. It gets 44 mpg combined and I don't drive slowly.
It has more than enough power and great acceleration even with 4 passengers. I am waiting for the warranty to run out so I can convert the car to run on used cooking oil, no Prius can do that...

Buy a diesel! Then convert it to HHO hyb
Source: Edmunds

...Awesome car made better with HHO system. I wouldn't bother with a VW that's not diesel, why would you? 40-50 mpg race car! How can you get any better?...

Best car I've owned
Source: Edmunds

...I was looking for a car for traveling back and forth to Florida and one that gets good fuel miliage.
I have had a place for about the last four years in Delray FL which is 1,150 miles from my New Jersey home.
I had a Mercedes 500 which by the way was a beautiful handling car.
I watched SUV's back and forth and was considerating getting the Mercedes SUV.
I researched the gas milage and price and decided not to buy it.
Years ago I had a diesel VW pickup that I ran to death and got great gas milage. I looked up on the net the features and price of the new VW's and bought...
