102,000 Miles and Still Running Strong as Ever!Source: Cars.com...and just keep up with the oil changes and preventative maintenance. Couldn't believe the brake pads held up for 87,000 miles and the rear are still original after 102K! The automatic 4X4 works great in the snow, you don't have to think about when to turn it on or off it automatically engages when one of the tires slips and turns off when you regain traction. The onboard computer tells you when you need to change your oil, if a headlight or tail light buld burns out, has a full system check, and displays your average MPG, Battery Charge Amount, and much more. Overall it's been an great SUV and... |

Best mileage in SUV class and fun to driveSource: Cars.com...After looking at several different SUVs I settled on the FEH and found a very nice used 2008. It handles well, is relatively quiet, has very good pickup, the exterior looks great, and it gets 31 mpg overall thanks to the hybrid/gas engine. It is certainly smaller than the Pilot (no 3rd row, and it is about 4 inches less wide), but the front seems to have more legroom (I'm 6`2") and my kids are young enough so they fit fine in their booster seats in the 2nd row. I'm sure there will be occasions when I miss the extra room, and the fit and finish overall is not as polished as the Pilot, but the... |

Good Choice For Hybrid SUVSource: Cars.com...Gas mileage is consistently over 30 mpg in city or highway despite very cold weather. 4 cylinder engine has ample power on any type of road. Sync system is a nice option with navi (which also enhances sound system) but it raises the price beyond what some will want to pay. Interior is very nice but not quite up to luxury standard one typically finds in vehicle in same price range. Wish the back seats folded down easier and was surprised to notice an old fashioned exterior radio antenna. These are small negatives to what bottom line is a real nice vehicle made in the USA. Nice work, Ford."... |

2005 Escape Hybrid - Loving it!Source: MSN Autos...I've already put 10,000 miles on it, and it's been trouble free. In July I was rear ended by a Comcast truck, that truck lost its radiator fluid and engine oil when it hit me - and I wasn't hurt in any manner. An amazing vehicle. I have all the upgrades with mine, and love the audiophile system and gps navigation too. The acceleration is very impressive, I can actually lay down rubber if I'm not careful - it's that responsive. I just love not burning any gas while I'm stopped in traffic! Cons: The brakes grab a little when I'm stopping if they are wet from rain. Overall: Over, I highly... |

Thumbs up for the ESCAPE HYBRIDSource: MSN Autos...This is a SUV & handles like a 4 cyli SUV. It works, THUMBS UP, 10K Cons: Programming the NAV and Radio while car is in motion is not possible 4 Cylinders ...... but that's the program and you have to live with it. Overall: With gas prices exploding and with my type of usage, The payoff should be within 3 years. If you need a couple of vehicles (FORDs) at the same time, you probably can get this car discounted. You do the math. If you drive alot of miles and are in areas where the cost of gas is higher than other areas ...the payoff is much faster. I will drive this car about 20 K a year and... |

Treat Yourself and the EnvironmentSource: MSN Autos...Cons: This hybrid model costs a few thousand dollars more than the regular model. But, you will receive cash benefit in tax return, if you file correctly. Overall: I used to pump gas every week, now it's only once a month. I used to change oil every 5k miles, now it's only every 10K miles. This car will help you learn how to drive efficiently by showing you when it's running on self-charging battery and when supported by gas. I used to drive so ignorantly by wasting gas in order to be the first in line for absolutely no beneficial gain for anybody. Now I drive economically and environmentally... |
