The Honda Civic is one of the best-known and best-selling compact cars in the U.S. market.
And it's just been entirely redesigned.
For all the details, you'll have to wait until Wedneday, April 20, when the full line of 2012 Honda Civic models will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show.
But we're headed for an advance preview and a chance to drive the whole line tomorrow. Regrettably, we're not allowed to write a single thing about the cars until the 20th.
However, we're happy to act as your humble servants and ask the Honda execs any questions you'd care to provide on the topic of the 2012 Civic lineup.
So far, we know that the production vehicles are likely to be quite close to the two concept cars Honda displayed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
And Honda has already said there'll be a high-fuel efficiency version of the 2012 Civic, the HF, that'll get the magical 40-mpg highway gas mileage rating from the EPA.
The 2012 Civic HF will compete with the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Eco and a version of the 2012 Ford Focus, along with all 2011 Hyundai Elantra models. All of them are rated at 40 or more mpg on the highway.
There will also be a redesigned 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid, this one using the brand's first-ever lithium-ion battery pack, which is smaller and lighter than the earlier nickel-metal-hydride packs used in all Honda hybrids so far.
In any case, let us know what you want to know about the new 2012 Honda Civic line.

1. Will Honda replace the outdated navigation/audio system found in current models with one that is more advanced and more like Ford Sync? The new Honda Odyssey has a new system that accepts "song by voice" and has bluetooth streaming. A better system would be nice to compete with the new systems in the Ford Focus.
2. Can the new Civic Hybrid operate on electric only for brief periods? The current gen Civic Hybrid could shut down valves during motion and allow for electric assist to give a mild EV only operation Will the new Civic Hybrid improve upon this method?

2.Where are Honda cars going?
It seems to have the looks with the recent models as seen with the Civic and CR-Z; but the overall package doesn’t seem to quiet live up to its purpose
3. Any chance Honda will have a family theme design?
Such as Mazda and many other car manufacturers
If so, will we see CR-Z‘s current front design be translated as a distinct look for Honda cars, it looks exciting, and yet it has the most classic styling cues of Honda cars.
4. What is happening with Acura? Will it depart further from Honda’s current car’s line up associations? (Such as the Legend, Crosstour and Euro Accord) move further up market? go international as it had planned?
May not be the most relevant, but love know the answers

2) Why does Honda insist on the 2 tiered dash, and only in the Civic? If they believe in it so much, why didn't they put it in the Accord? Also, and we won't really know until 4/20, but will the Si's dash be more sporty than the regular Civic, beyond, say, just making it red (I'm keeping my fingers crossed)?
3) Any chance of in the future losing the Civic Si and instead resurrecting the Prelude? This way, the styling, both inside and out, can be independent.
