The Super Bowl has historically had a lot of automotive industry ads and this year is no exception. Maybe it is the millions of viewers at one time or the tradition of actually watching the ads as opposed to running to the kitchen for a snack. This year Super Bowl XLV had ads from many automakers—both domestic and imported. Some ads will be more memorable than others and we defiinetly have our favorites here at AllSmallCars.com. What are they? Let’s take a look.

First lets run down the car companies that appeared. We Ford with the “Focus Rally: America” and the F-150 EcoBoost. Then there was Hyundai with their car conspiracy and the all-new Hyundai Elantra. BMW got in on the with the 335d and how diesel has ch-ch-changed. One of the more surprising commercials was the Eminem commercial with the all-new Chrysler 200 and the “Imported from Detroit” slogan. Chevy brought the romance with the Cruze Eco and on the wackier front their was the game show commercial with the MINI Countryman—“Cram it in the boot” which has to be wrong on so many levels. Other commercials that aired, even if they weren’t small cars, included the Hyundai Sonata and a biting commercial from Audi for their new A8 that took a clear shot at the Mercedes S500.

In case you didn’t notice, we have put together links to the commercials where they are mentioned above. Be sure to leave us a comment right here at AllSmallCars.com and let us know which small car commercial is your favorite.

  1. had to go back and watch a bunch of these again to make sure i didn't miss anything. media darlings chrysler and vw still look pretty good. all the pepsi and doritos slapstick not so much. one surprise was the mini countryman 'cram it ing the boo' gag which i think was carried off pretty well. youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDnVE58Z9VA
the bmw diesel ad was to me an odd approach. seems weird to go hard at how bad diesel is (or was) and then try and convince everyone to buy a diesel. that's a lot of leaps to ask the consumer to make, imho.
