Some watch the Super Bowl for the game, some watch it for the ads and other take in both. Super Bowl XLV is no different—that is except that the companies that bought the ad spots this year are a little different. One of those companies that have stepped up into prime Super Bowl positioning is Hyundai. If you missed it, Hyundai ran their commercial for the 2011 Hyundai Elantra during the first half and it was creative, but didn’t really tell you the value of the Elantra or why you would want to look at. However, maybe the commercial will put an end to the small car conspiracy.

The ad opens with sounds that everyone might hear while driving in their cars. Noises that range from thumping on the steer to the sound of the turn signal all while images of previous compact cars flash on the screen. Then they ask the question, have we been hypnotized to think that this is as good as small cars get? Then they introduce the all-new 2011 Hyundai Elantra. The focus of the commercial is really the exterior of the car since they don’t really focus on the interior nor on the features like standard heated front and rear seats on the Limited model. However, they only do have so many seconds to capture the audience and we will concede that the deep red metallic sure does look good on the new Elantra body.

If you didn’t see the commercial check it out below and if you haven’t heard much about the 2011 Hyundai Elantra, then check out our recent article here.
