Toyota has gained a considerable hybrid market share with the dedicated hybrid model the Prius. This single vehicle has outsold all other hybrid models and continues to set the standard for a dedicated hybrid.

Toyota has been contempt with a single dedicated hybrid model for some time now.  The company just recently released a second dedicated hybrid the Lexus HS 250h to compliment the Prius.

Now Toyota has announced the future addition of a third dedicated hybrid model.  The new hybrid will be unveiled in concept form at the NAIAS in Detroit on January 11th.

Toyota has not released any actual details about the concept vehicle aside from the new teaser images released and seen above.  It is certain that the vehicle will be a dedicated hybrid model and not a hybridized version of an existing model.  Additionally, the company recently announced that it would expand the Prius name to include a sporty coupe and a wagon.  Possibly the concept is one of these offerings.

We will bring you additional information about the hybrid Toyota concept vehicle after its uneviling on January 11th.
