Last week we reported that Renault planned to unveil three new electric vehicles at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Today, some Wallace and Gromit style images purporting to be one of those new vehicles, surfaced on Auto Plus, a French car website.

The clay model depicts the three-seat Twingo ZE, which is said to be moved by an electric motor producing 59-horsepower, going 0 to 60 in 10 seconds and achieving a top speed of 80 miles per hour.

Renault's mini EV uses regenerative braking to help it reach an estimated range of 100 miles. It takes four hours to fully recharge from a standard household outlet, but if that's not fast enough for you, Renault plans to provide "quick drop" locations where depleted batteries can be swapped out for fully charged ones (a la Better Place).

The Twingo ZE is expected to cost £13,000 not including the lease for the battery.
