Last week was full of exciting updates due to the 2009 New York Auto Show, we have reported on the Hyundai NuvisGM and Segway’s Project P.U.M.A. and now some news from Nissan that is sure to get the sports car enthusiast’s adrenaline pumping. Last week at the 2009 New York Auto Show, Nissan pulled the covers off the new 2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster. Even more exciting is that this new wind-in-your-hair sports car doesn’t share anything with the Infiniti G37 hardtop convertible. So now you can own a 370Z Roadster and know it is exactly what a Z used to be…unique.

Personally, I feel the new body on the 2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster is ten times better than the previous 350Z Roadster. The last generation has some good parts, but over all it wasn’t as interesting as this new generation. Some styling difference that you will notice right off the bat are the sculpted front and rear lights with the rear’s now having much needed integrated reverse and turn signal indicators. This is instead of the rectangular blocks that were stuck to the back bumper on the pervious model. The front fascia has also been given more interest and sex appeal with the use of more sculpting and an inset color-keyed grill design. One word to sum up the difference between the 2009 350Z Roaster and the 2010 350Z—Integration.

This new Z roadster just seems to have it. All the styling cues seem to flow from front to back without things sticking out and giving you the “What happened here” impression. Moreover, the Nissan 370Z rides on a fairly compact 100.4-wheelbase, giving it an overall length of 167.2 inches. Since it shares its drivetrain with the 2009 Nissan 370Z, performance will be of no disappoint with the standard 332-horsepower 3.7-liter V-6. And with a one-step, push-of-the-button powered convertible top, optional navigation, sports brakes, Bluetooth, XM satellite radio and Bose audio system, this roadster has everything one needs to challenge the road ahead.

Also announced at the 2009 New York Auto Show was the 2009 Nissan NISMO Z, which is Nissan's in-house tuner version of the standard 370Z. The NISMO edition will buy you 350-horsepower, aluminum doors, hood and hatch, NISMO tuned suspension and exhaust, as well as, a NISMO branded interior package.
