In a striking move, Porsche has made a four door car.  Porsche, synonymous with performance and 2 door coupes, will be releasing the 4 door Porsche Panamera in 2010.

Porsche, releasing a four door does not make news for a web site devoted to electric vehicles.  However, just when you thought Porsche had gone soft by adding too many door to a sports car, think about this, Porsche will later provide a hybrid powertrain in the Panamera.

The Panamera hybrid will be powered by a 333hp 3.0 liter V6 Audi engine combined with a 52 hp electric motor to provide an astounding 374 hp combined output.  Those numbers are in line with what is expected of Porsche.

Reviews of the standard Panamera are out, but the hybrid model will come at a later date, possibly in earl 2011.  Pricing has not been announced for the hybrid version, but gasoline powered versions range from $89,800 for S models to $132,600 for Turbo models with a lower priced version expected soon after the release of the models listed above.
