Sam's Club has expanded their repertoire beyond seven pound cans of Nacho cheese to electric super cars; and why not? It might be the only store where you can get a vending machine and fifteen dozen eggs in one stop. There's just one problem with the electric super car bit: it doesn't exist yet.

Nevertheless, it has been sold, along with a trip for two to Los Angeles to drive it on a race track. First class airfare and a luxury hotel room are included. The price was a paltry $100,000.

Hybrid Technologies plans to put the so-called Liv Inizio super car on sale by mid-2009, but they're currently working with a prototype. The car's performance will be comparable to that of the Tesla Roadster, reaching 60 mph in less than five seconds and topping out at over 150 mph. A lithium ion battery provides 200 miles of range on a full charge. (Disclaimer: All of these details assume the prototype becomes a production car.)
