Green Car Owners Make Hybrid Electric Vehicles Even Greener Cars

Most people who purchase a green car are happy to get the average in good gas mileage (somewhere around fifty miles per gallon). However, there is a group of people out there who drive green cars in such a way that they can get over one hundred miles per gallon. There is nothing special about the hybrid electric vehicles that they drive; it's all about the way that they drive them. Green Car Hypermilers This group of people who maximize the gas mileage of their green cars is called hypermilers. They are green car drivers who are committed to the art of driving in such a way that they can get more gas mileage than you would expect to get from even the best green cars out there. Better Driving for Green Cars There are a multitude of different tricks that hypermilers use to get better gas mileage in their hybrid electric vehicles. For example, these drivers will avoid using both the brake and the accelerator as much as possible. They'll shut off their engines whenever it appears that they'll be at a stop for a long period of time. They'll avoid speeding at all costs. In other words, these new green car drivers think a lot about how they drive and how to reduce the gas they're using in absolutely every way. Not Just for Hybrid Electric Vehicles These gas mileage changes don't just apply to hybrid electric vehicles. It is possible to reduce the amount of gas that you are using by applying these same tricks to driving any car. However, you're going to get the best gas mileage if you implement these driving tools in a green car. Making this effort could make it so that you almost never have to stop at the gas station.
