Tesla Motors is taking its Supercharger fast-charging network to a place it's never been: Wyoming.
The electric-car company plopped a Supercharger station down in Lusk, a town in the least-populated county of the least-populated state in the country, according to an Associated Press report (via the Seattle Post-Intelligencer).
The Equality State's first Supercharger station consists of four units in the courtyard of Lusk's America's Best Value Inn Covered Wagon Motel.

The station fills a gap between planned sites in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Rapid City, South Dakota--part of an East-West Supercharger corridor designed to allow Model S drivers to drive all the way across the country, eventually.
As with other Supercharge installations, the Lusk station provides battery charging for free, and will recharge a Model S battery pack to 80 percent of capacity in 30 minutes or less.
According to the Supercharger map on Tesla's website, California drivers wishing to cross the U.S. via Wyoming will need to head south along the coast, east through Arizona and New Mexico, and then north through Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota.
As of today, there are not yet any operable Supercharger stations in Nevada or Utah.
Tesla currently has 54 stations in service nationwide, but plans a major expansion of its Supercharger network over the next year.
The bulk of its stations are currently on the East and West Coasts, though it has also opened a Supercharger location in Normal, Illinois, also known as "EV Town."
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously said that the company hopes to have 2,000 to 3,000 total charging points operational by 2015. Each Supercharger station has multiple charging cables so more than one Model S can charge simultaneously.
