2010 Toyota Prius

2010 Toyota Prius

You can argue, and many do, that driving a Toyota Prius is a form of tooting one's own horn--by showing the world how fuel efficient you are.

In general, we try not to do too much of that here at AllAboutPrius, though we did write about getting picked up by Huffington Post.

But this morning, we received a huge honor: We were quoted by Stuart Elliott, advertising editor of The New York Times, who covered the 2010 Toyota Prius advertising campaign we've told you about several times now.

We liked the commercials, as Stuart noted in quoting a couple of our approving comments from posts about how the "Harmony" commercial was filmed and describing the latest "MPG" ad.

But we had to chuckle at the countervailing source he found, one T.L. Stanley of BrandWeek, who writes the BrandFreak blog. Elliot cited his comments that the ads were “fueling my nightmares” because of an aversion to “people, sometimes very small ones, dressed up in the guise of flora and fauna.”

Errrrr ... Mr. Stanley ... chill out, dude! It's just a TV ad, OK?

Oh, wait, eye-catching headlines and sensational views? Right! It's a blog.

Never mind.

Meanwhile: Thanks, Stuart!
